What's the Use?

Yesterday I stayed at home and just chilled out watching telly and reading. My mother cooked a nice meal and asked me if I wanted some. I said although I wasn't hungry I would still like some. Come to think of it, I'm never hungry. I eat because of habit. When I'm not at home I don't think about food and I generally only eat once a day.

After I'd finished the plate of delicious rice and stew I felt nothing. It was as if I hadn't eaten anything. A few hours later, I had another plateful and I still felt nothing.

What's the use of stuffing myself when there is no evidence of eating?

Later at night I teased my mother about how she'd finished a potful of rice on her own. She pointed to her stomach and said it was quite full and round. I showed her my flat stomach.

"It's amazing how your stomach always stays the same!" she chuckled. "No matter what you eat you always look the same."

I guess as Spirit I don't need to be sustained by food; nothing can be added to or taken away from Spirit. On the other hand, I still love food, chocolate being my favourite.

What's the use of eating? Eating is simply a way to experience tastes, I guess.
