Staying True to Self

In a world of conflicting beliefs, how can you remain true to yourself?

Let's say you're reading a newspaper article. The article invites you to take sides: do you agree or disagree with the writer's perspective. You are invited to get involved in a debate and continue the discussion. The problem with getting involved in a discussion, where you choose sides, is you're in a state of conflict, i.e. being in a divided mind. Since there is only One having life, when I choose one side and reject another, I'm in a battle with myself. How can I be at peace when I'm in conflict?

How do I resolve this conflict?

Well, when I read the article in silence, I am being the One that is neither for or against. I am being myself that is free of beliefs or dogma. I am without form and void. I am being the Light that we all are.

Does this mean when I choose something I am in a divided mind? It depends on what place you're coming from when you make your choice. If by choosing you're thinking all others are bad and yours is good, you're in a state of conflict. Remember the universe accepts all beliefs and all choices. When you make a decision from a place of acceptance, you're simply being yourself in a way you choose to experience that moment of Now.

What about if you're having a conversation with someone? You can't just sit there and say nothing when someone expects you to share your view? I tend to listen in silence. If it's something the person needs me to give an opinion about, all I can do is state my truth as I see it. I'm neither denying another's truth nor am I denying mine, I am simply being myself.

I am Self.
